You’ve seen it in Brides of Oklahoma; now see even more of Lasting Impressions’ fabulous travel-themed wedding inspiration photo shoot! By pulling together elements of travel to exotic destinations and combining them with the color palette of a vibrant sunset, I created a wedding design, titled "Exotic Love," fit for a destination wedding in a far away, exotic land.
Our invitations introduce the exotic theme with stamps depicting international destinations and the color scheme is reflected in the design. Floral arrangements include botanical jewel tones with native-to-Africa proteas plus lilies, orchids, grasses and succulents. Natural wood elements are juxtaposed with smooth silks and jeweled hurricanes to create a luxurious texture within the design.
I love the place settings we chose. Layers of china begin with a metallic charger and a beautiful dinner plate. The salad course, served European style after the entrée, is presented on a china plate painted with exotic birds. Flavorful cake is served on purposely-mismatched china plates. The flatware is heavy gold and turquiose flutes are at each place setting for a champagne toast. Place cards double as favors featuring guests’ names on individual silk-covered boxes containing exotic-looking succulents for guests to take home and replant in a favorite pot or garden.
The creative minds at Mood Party Rentals built the cake tent custom to reflect an exotic tent on the plains of Africa. Icing on the Top designed the tantalizing cakes to coordinate with the chosen table linens and to fit the custom bridal cake stand, which resembles a tree with three arms to hold the cakes.
Lasting Impressions created the elephant tusks that frame the natural archway for the ceremony. Low benches create unobstructed views of the surrounding natural views during the ceremony.
And, I want to give a huge shout out to Route 66 Photo Booth. They pulled out all the stops with fun props from around the world, including an antique steamer trunk! Guests are able to take home a collection of postcards made during the reception.
